There are changes to the entry requirements for the DP Operator
Scheme (the DP Maintenance Course is not affected by the changes) which
enter into force in January 2012. The relevant extract from the
Nautical Institute website is as folows:
From 1st January 2012, The Nautical Institute will implement the
following criteria for entry onto the DP Operators Training Scheme:
* The Minimum qualification will be set as STCW Regulation II/1 - II/2 - II/3 Deck and Regulation III/1 – III /2 – III/3 Engine.
* Alterntive appropriate marine vocational qualifications will be considered on a “case by case” basis
* Prospective DPO’s, who are in the process of training for
an STCW certificate can start the DP scheme and complete all the
elements, but cannot, apply for the DP certificate until they hold an
appropriate STCW certificate.
* Prospective DPO’s, not meeting the above requirements will
be able to apply for certification, if they commenced training prior to
the implementation date and all elements have been completed within a 5
year period at the time of application.
* Following implementation all existing DPO certification will be honoured and remain valid.
You will note that the minimum entry qualification for entry onto the DPO Training Scheme wef Jan 2012 will be as follows:
* STCW Deck Certificate
* STCW Engineer Certificate
* Any NI approved marine vocational certificate (considered on a case by case basis)
You will also note the following:
* A Deck or Engineer Cadet who is studying towards an STCW
Certificate can start the DPO Training Scheme, but can not obtain an NI
DPO certificate until they obtain their STCW Certificate.
Bagi yang ingin mendaftar/mengikuti DP Course, selain mengisi formulir pendaftaran dan scan passport yang masih berlaku(expired date di atas 6 bulan), harap disertakan juga scan sertifikat STCW bagi yang sudah memilikinya.
