PT Vierlines, unit of Vierson and Daugther Holding Company, bought 15 vessels for supporting offshore shipyard production of China-based Anhui Jantle Engineering Co Ltd Shipyard, Investor Daily reported this morning.
Very RH Abdul Jamal, Vier's president director, said the purchase of offshore vessels which values of Rp525 billion has expanded the company's business focus to transportation sector from current portfolio investment.
He said the vessels purchase agreement was signed on Thursday (Jan. 6, 2010). Based on the agreement, the company will purchase 8 ocean going tug vessels for the first phase, while the rest 7 vessels with various types including panamax will be purchased later.
Very said the first 8 vessels will be operated in Karimun offshore, Riau islands
